Ingredients
Ingredients for Mullangi Sambar
- 1/2 cup toor dal
- 1/2 cup radish
- 1 medium size chopped onion
- 1 medium size chopped tomato
- 1 tsp tamarind pulp
- 2 1/2 tbsp sambar powder
- 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 turmeric powder
- salt to taste
- coriander leaf
To temper
- curry leaves
- 1 red dry chilli
- A pinch of hing
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
Instructions
How to cook the recipe
- Soak toor dal for half an hr. Pressure cook for 4-5 whistles along with turmeric powder and mash.keep it aside.
- Now add 1 tbsp oil in a pressure cooker, add onion, tomato, radish, cook for 5-10 minutes in low flame.
- Now add sambar powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, 1/2 cup water, Once it boils, add mashed toor dal, tamarind pulp, and salt. Cook for 1 whistle.
- Now take another pan add 1 tsp oil, add mustard seeds Once it starts to splutter, add curry leaves, dry red chilli, hing and saute for 5 minutes.
- Add this to sambar.Add coriander leaf.
- Mullangi sambar is ready.
