Ingredients for Veg Kurma

  • 1 medium carrot cubed
  • 2 medium potatoes cubed
  • 1/3 cup chopped Beans
  • ¼ cup green peas
  • 1 Green Chili chopped
  • 3 tbsps oil
  • 5 cloves
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 Bay Leaf
  • curry leaves
  • 1 medium tomato chopped
  • 1 large Onion finely chopped
  • ¼ tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 tsps coriander powder
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ inch ginger
  • ½ inch garlic
  • ½ cup coconut paste
  • 1/2 cup curd (Secret ingredient)
  • 1/2 cup raw milk (Secret ingredient)


How to cook the recipe

  • Heat oil in a pan, add cloves, bay leaves, mustard seeds and curry leaves and saute till seeds splutter. Add onion ,tomato ,green chili and saute for 2 minutes.
  • Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and red chili powder and mix. Add 1½ cups water and mix.
  • Add ginger-garlic paste and Sauté for 2-minutes.
  • Add carrot, potato and salt, cover and cook.
  • Add coconut paste and green peas and mix well. Add beaten curd and raw milk.
  • Cover and cook till vegetables are done.
  • Serve Veg Kurma with chapati,parotta and Idiyappam.
