Ingredients
Ingredients Veg kadai
- 1/2 cup chopped Potato
- 1/2 cup chopped Carrot
- 1/2 cup chopped Beans
- 10 florets cauliflower
- 1/2 cup chopped Capsicum
- 1 Bay leaf
- 1 chopped Onion
- 1 tsp Ginger garlic paste
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- 2 tsp Red chili powder
- 1 cup Tomato puree
- 1 tsp Kasuri methi
- 1/4 tsp Garam masala powder
- few Coriander leaves
- 3 oil
- Salt to taste
- Water as required
For kadai masala powder:
- 2 tsp Coriander seeds
- 1 tsp Cumin
- 1/2 tsp Poppy seeds
- 1 Green cardamom
- 2 Kashmiri red chilies
Instructions
How to cook the recipe
- Heat a pan on a low flame, when the pan is hot, add coriander seeds, cumin seeds, poppy seeds, Kashmiri red chilies and green cardamom.
- Roast them till their aromatic smell comes out.
- Switch off the flame and allow them to cool down for some time, transfer them into a mixi jar and blend them into a fine powder.
- Keep the masala powder aside.
- Add oil in the pressure cooker, once the oil is hot, add bay leaf, add chopped onions and add ginger&garlic paste, saute them well.
- Add a pinch of turmeric powder, red chili powder and mix them well.
- Add 1 cup of tomato puree and mix it well.
- Add kasuri methi, garam masala powder and add the kadai masala powder, mix them well.
- Add some water as required to adjust gravy consistency and mix well, add salt to taste and mix well. Cook for 4-5 whistle.
- Wait until the pressure gets released by itself. Open the lid add few coriander leaves which have been finely chopped.
- Veg kadai is ready.
