Ingredients
Ingredients for Bisi Bele bath
- 1½ cups rice soaked
- 6 small onions
- 3 tbsp oil
- ¾ cup toor dal soaked and drained
- 6 dry red chilli
- 1 large onion finely chopped
- few curry leaves
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 1 tsp sambar powder
- 8-9 beans chopped
- 1 carrot sliced
- ½ tsp turmeric powder
- 1½ tsp tamarind paste
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- Salt to taste
- 2 tomato finely chopped
- 2 tbsp ghee
Instructions
How to cook the recipe
- Heat oil in a pressure cooker. Add onion,and tomato ,mix and sauté till soft.
- Add beans ,carrot , small onions and turmeric powder ,red chilli powder ,sambar powder and mix. Add soaked rice, toor dal, salt, 2-3 cups water and tamarind paste, mix well, cover and pressure cook till the pressure is released 4-6 times.
- Heat 2 tablespoons ghee in a pan. Add mustard seeds ,curry leaves ,dry red chili and sauté for 20 seconds.Add this to the cooked rice mixture.
- Bisi bele bath is ready to serve.
