Best Pav Bhaji Recipe

Pav Bhaji is one of the most delicious street food of India. It is rich & creamy with Butter and also lot of vegetables. Pav bhaji has many variations in ingredients and garnishes, but is essentially a spiced mixture of mashed vegetables in a thick gravy, usually cooked on a flat griddle and served hot with a soft white bread roll. It is usually included in the evening’s food.

Ingredients

Ingredients for Pav Bhaji

  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 1 chopped tomatoes
  • 2 potatoes chopped
  • 1/2 cup green peas
  • 1 big onion finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 4 tbsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tbsp ginder & garlic paste
  • food colour optional
  • Water as required
  • 1 tbsp garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder

For garnishing

  • sliced Lemons
  • Chopped onions
  • Butter
  • Chopped Coriander

Instructions

How to cook the recipe

  • In a pan add potatoes, peas, tomatoes, add required water and let it cook for 15-20 minutes.
  • Mash it well.keep it aside.
  • In a pan add 2 tbsp butter, add chopped onions, cook till the onions are brown, add cumin seeds, ginder & garlic paste and red chilli powder and mix it well.
  • Add turmeric powder and garam masala powder.Add the mashed potato mixture into the pan.Mix it well.Add food color, mix it well again.
  • Add required water to adjust the consistency.Mix well and cook for a minutes.
  • Slit the breads, apply butter and warm them on the pan.
  • Put some butter on the top of pav bhaji.
  • Serve the pav bhaji with chopped coriander leaves and sliced onions and sliced lemons.
