Malai Kofta recipe - Malai kofta is very famous and tasty indian dish which is cooked with tomato, onion, paneer, cheese, cabbage, spinach etc.

Ingredients for Malai Kofta

  • 150 gms paneer cottage cheese
  • 1 cup cabbage
  • 1/2 cup spinach
  • 2 green chilli
  • 1 tbsp cheese
  • 2 tbsp corn flour
  • oil to fry
  • 2 bread slices

For gravy

  • 3 to mato puree
  • 2 tbsp cashewnut paste
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp ghee
  • 2 cup water
  • 1/2 tsp asefoetida
  • 3 garlic paste
  • 2 tsp curd
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala

To garnish

  • coriander leaves
  • fresh cream


How to cook the recipe

  • Soak the bread slices in milk.
  • Heat a pan, roast the finely chopped cabbage and spinach and cool down in a bowl ,add the finely chopped green chilli, coriander leaves, cornflour, grated cheese and grated paneer to the same bowl and add soaked bread in milk without the crust and salt and mix well.
  • To make the koftas, take little cornflour dust your hand and make small round dough.
  • Heat oil in a frying pan once oil is hot add these koftas to hot oil and fry them until they turn brown in colour.
  • Once done, take the koftas out.
  • Heat ghee in a pan .Once the ghee is hot, add the dry red chilli, cumin seeds, onion and asafoetida and garlic paste. Cook the onion until they are brown.
  • Add the cashew nuts paste and tomato puree and saute for 2-3 minutes then add the red chilli powder, coriander powder and cumin seed powder, garam masala, curd, salt to taste and sugar and mix well.Add 1-2 cup of water to the mixture and mix well.
  • Let the mixture come to a boil.Once boiling and thickened, turn off the heat. malai kofta curry is ready.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves ,and cream.
