Ingredients

Ingredients for Aloo bonda

  • Oil for frying

For Potato Filling

  • 3-4 Boiled Potato
  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1/2 chopped Onion
  • 3 Green chili
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • Coriander leaves
  • 1 tsp Oil
  • Salt to taste

For Batter

  • 1 cup Besan/Gram flour
  • 1 tbsp Rice flour
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Water

Instructions

How to cook the recipe

  • In a pan, heat 1 tsp oil and add mustard seeds, once they splutter, add chopped onions and green chilies, saute the onions and add turmeric powder and salt to taste.
  • Add the boiled and mashed potatoes and coriander leaves.
  • Mix well and switch off the stove,let it cool.
  • In a bowl add besan/ gram flour, rice flour, salt to taste and turmeric powder, add water and mix it to get a thick batter.
  • Now take the aloo masala and roll it into balls.
  • Dip the rolled aloo masala balls in the batter.
  • Heat oil for deep frying and start frying the aloo bondas.
  • Take the bondas out after they have turned into a golden brown color.
  • Serve the aloo bondas hot, with some chutney.
